"In matriarchal social systems, such as elephant herds and lion prides, they cooperate and help each other. The matriarch elephant is the mother or even grandmother to one or more members of the group, and she is helped as much as she helps others. One can say that such help is similar to "taking care" of parents. In wolf society, the young wolves stay in the group and help their parents in hunting or raising siblings. In a pride of lion, an animal is allowed to share in the kill even if one of them is temporarily unable to hunt. That individual is sometimes the mother or even grandmother of one or more of the other pride members. That is close to what anyone may think of as taking care of one's parents."

"Social insects (eg. - honey bee) may be the only examples. Workers look after the Males and Queen (parents)."
