Week 3 :]

Today, the Bill of Rights is still necessary. It guarantees certain rights to all individuals without having the government violate it.

6th Amendment:

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense."

Why it is important:
The 6th Amendment is significant to all Americans because it provides the accused with legal protection.
It allows the accused the right to a public trial, right of an impartial jury, confrontation with the witnesses, and the right to an attorney.
With it, innocent ones who are accused would be able to establish their innocence.
