Bottled Water(week 2)

People in US buys about half of a billion bottled water each week which is enough to circle the globe five times! It also cost more 2000 more times than tap water. In my own opinion, it is just a waste making water bottles because oil is needed to make water bottles, that is enough oil and energy to fuel one million cars in US.

Week 2 prompt

The thing that caught my attention in the videoclip THE STORY OF STUFF wasI that, 2000 trees in the Amazon will be cut down every minute. This suprized me because that I did not know that this much trees has been cut down in such a short time. I think that people

Secondly, what caught my attention most in the videoclip THE STORY OF BOTTLED WATER is that most of the bottled water we buy is just filtered tap water. This shocked me, before I thought that bottled water is a higher class water, but the videoclip altered my thought. I think the companies that are sell bottled water as tap water should stop lying to the people who buys bottled water. This will make people angry if they find out.

well i agree with the lady in the video ...but i still have a question. why can't we make recycling a trend? if we're able to agree with wasting, then why don't we make recycling a style? like recycled pencials...they're cool cuz you can see all the squiggleys

and i also think that we should put a law to make no burnt waste. or put flame retardent toxic thingy in any of the regular house hold objects. well, i don't really consume that much...(except food) becasue eveything in my house is LOST...if you want 2 search it, go ahead...YOU'LL FIND THE WEIRDEST THINGS!

the thing that i was intrested in was the parental care thing...i mean rats take care of themselfs(watch rattatouie or something) but we should take care of ourself cuz like WE SHOULD! respect man RESPECT TO THE ELDERLY!!!...imma end this post early because my cuzins are here and i like NEVER see them :D

WEEK 2 :D

I watched the video on THE STORY OF STUFF. Things that caught my attention included the fact that the system was "linear". I had always known that much of the stuff we used couldn't be used again but I didn't know that the system was called linear. That seemed to make it clearer that if we don't change our ways soon, our planet would be on a one-way road to destruction....:O

Also, MANY things surprised me, especially the neurotoxin pillows. I can't believe that I've NEVER heard anything about pillows being toxic!!! I mean, everyone has to sleep on a pillow sometime in their life. For me, I sleep 7-8 hours a night on a PILLOW! I wonder how much damage has already been done to my poor brain... O_o

After watching the video, I felt REALLY guilty...because just the day before, I had boughten these really cute new pair of converse shoes because they were "in"...It made me feel like the video was talking about ME! But i guess that's a good thing because if all the people who watched the video felt the same way as me, then there's bound to be people who will realize that WE MUST CHANGE THE WORLD AND ITS PEOPLE! If there's enough motivation, people will start taking action and maybe, just maybe, the system will become one that doesn't waste resources or people :) WE created the old system and WE can create a new system, so GET STARTED!! :D

I totally agree with the video and here are my points :)

Point1: We need to stop consuming so much.

Argument1: Resources are being used at an accelerating rate.

Evidence1: 1/3 of our natural resources have been consumed in the past 3 decades.

Point2: Stop using toxic chemicals to create products.

Argument2: We don't know the full impact and effects of using them.

Evidence2: Only a handful have been tested for health impacts.

Point3: Incineration is really bad.

Argument3: Burning the garbage releases the toxic in the product.

Evidence3: Dioxin is the worst man-made substance AND it comes from burning our garbage.

After, watching these videos I realized how much our daily lives are centered around stuff and how deadly the consequences of it are. As a consumer, I feel horrible. D;
